Happy Holiday weekend, Buddies:
First - blessings to all who served, serve, or will serve our country in the armed forces that protect our democracy.
Second (RANT COMING) - I was like a babbling baby yesterday at the ENT doctor while I tried to describe my two week horror show of inflamed sinuses, completely blocked nasal passages, and post nasal drip! He said it was "most severe" and no wonder I could not breathe!
I got two nasal sprays prescribed - but when we went to the pharmacy, they could only provide one of them and the other takes three days to arrive!
Whaattt??? My husband came with me and we were both irritated! So, I went back to the urgent care clinic and saw a different doctor and essentially begged for prednisone for 10 days! Historically, it is the only thing that has worked when I have allergic responses this bad.
So we got to the pharmacy and THEY say the prescription makes no sense to them. The doctor prescribed the prednisone in a slow tapering dose over a ten day period! Whaaattt??? My dear husband rushed back to the clinic to get the doctor to re-write the prescription so the pharmacist could fill it.
This took from 2:00pm until 8:00pm last night! I am praying for some relief in the next couple days!

I hope the meds do the trick. It's very frustrating sometimes getting stuff from the pharmacy. We have problems at times getting a legitimate prescription filled for some things because new laws only let each pharmacy get so much of some drugs a month, once they're going they're gone. They won't tell you when they'll get more and you don't know if a place has it unless you go there, they won't tell you over the phone. Ridiculous. Feel better soon!

Sounds like a real horror story....sometimes I get a bit upset over BIG PHARMA...won't go there now but I hope you are feeling better soon.

Tapering dose is pretty standard for prednisone. I'm not sure why that would confuse them. I hope it works for you very quickly, my buddy.

I know Maelyn - that is how it is done but not sure what was up with the pharmacy! It was a long and frustrating afternoon.

All that congestion gives me sinus headaches, so hopefully you aren't cursed with those right now. Feel better!

I am so sorry to hear what you went through. Like many others above I have had issues as well with doctors not wanting to prescribe meds I know will work, pharmacies and insurance that are governed more by money when the need to help those who are sick. I really hope you get to feeling better soon. Big Hugs to you =)
