It appears eating around 1600 calories is working for maintenance for me. Lunch out yesterday was a chicken panini & some delicious sweet potato waffle fries. I hadn't ordered fries out in awhile so I guess this was a splurge. The resteraunt was at the Golf Club in a community a couple of our ladies live in. Karen, my friend worked with the Manager & Chef to insure we had a really nice experience for our lunch. They sent out a tray full of slices of chocolate cake as a complementary dessert. I had one bite then brought the rest home to share with Hubby. 😊 It's in the fridge. I ordered a glass of wine with lunch. It was served in a nice big glass....as red wine should be...but eyeballing it it appeared to be more than a 5 oz. pour. Generous but more calories than a serving....I added in a couple more oz. on my log.

Dinner was planned to be lighter based on a higher cal lunch. Salad & shrimp....tasty but lower cal.

We are attending a memorial service for a friend that passed away last week this afternoon. He had ALS....only 59 years old. He lived his life to the fullest as long as he could in spite of being in a wheel chair at the end.

In spite of choosing to gather for lunch yesterday there wasn't any hugging hello & there was hand sanitizer brought out before we ate. Memorials & funerals are usually moments for hugging. The reception & memorial is being held in our University Convocation Center so I anticipate there may be a lot of people attending. I'm curious how things will go in light of the Coronavirus situation. Our local schools have canceled for the next week...including the University. An annual music festival planned for April has been cancelled as well. We haven't had any diagnosed cases yet, but I guess it's just a matter of time. Our small town, an hour north of Atlanta, is a tourist draw with our festivals, a plethora of Wineries and an Historic downtown with shops & restaurants. I have a feeling we may see a downturn in tourism but wonder when someone with the virus may introduce it into our community.
