SPRING RECOMP - DAY 5

Gainz!

Working on my emotional dissociation from scale weight practice this morning!

Finished baselining my lifts yesterday. Except chins. We've got a bar shortage that is bottlenecking my workouts. No injury! Being super mindful of body feedback and discriminating between what to push through and what not. All the old tweaks - bicep, lower back, ankle, etc. - still there; not aggravated yet, but I can feel it. Right knee clicks every squat regardless of load, left hip clicks every knee up, left knee provided the cap on my deadlift baseline last night. That's something new!

Been researching the mitigants to all this. Heavy up on the vitamin d may or may not abet the rickets a bit. Been committed to my daily flex work for a minute now, and have expanded my routine, but this is all basic stretching. Not bad, but we can do better. Key going forward is going to be muscle elongation under load. This is the core of the work of Charles Poliquin, Knee Over Toes Guy, and a handful of Oly trainers I have come across. Long = Strong. Or so I am told.

Hard not to sweat yet another scale bump like this, but the reality is that the last two days I have been right around 2700,which is fine for this stage of things. Yesterday was a food choice shit show, replete with Jamaican beef patties from the 7 Eleven, Cheese-Its, and pizza. Didn't enjoy it. Not trying to repeat anytime soon. Just on the road and then not cooking because the kitchen was down and old habits. Felt like shit. Logged it all. Napped. Hit the gym late. Meh lifting, cause nutrishunzz... No meal after.

Spent the day facing curve balls, starting with the pre-dawn water seeping up through the kitchen floor. Sexy new goose neck pot faucet installed and leak free. Still waiting for a call back from the plumber... Now I have to figure out how to accelerate the drying process and get the household logistics back on track. So I can focus on more important things, like napping, my tan, and tinder...

Rent a dehydrator. Or put a fan on the floor pointed in the area-not great, but may help. Hope you have a good day.

Ahhhh the 7-11 Diet! Sounds like you wanted hot food at that point, but around here they do sell bananas and bags of nuts, yogurt cups, and a couple of healthy things for convenience. Overall though I don't think they'll be earning any Michelin stars in this lifetime 😁
